About Me
My name is Margie Mackrell (pronounced Muh Krell) and if you're here, you already know I'm a photographer.
I won't bore you with the cliché story about wanting to be a photographer since I was 13. I got my first camera around 11 and throughout the years I took photos but did nothing serious with it until a friend asked me take their sons senior photos. I was a nervous wreck during the session, but I realized that I enjoyed working with people and had a lot of fun doing it. After a number of conversations with my husband, I decided it was time to do what I love, and with his encouragement, I opened 21Seven Photography.
I've been asked many times about my business name, 21Seven, and it's a nod to my Dad, as he bought me my first camera. The 21Seven comes from the house number of the house he lived in when I was growing up. Each time I pick up my camera, I think about him for a moment before I start shooting.
